Hardening

Linux is simple as long as you get the idea in behind. I am using it since some years for now and I need a new challenge. So I decided to have a look at the hardened projects and maybe using SELinux.

But where to begin?

Security starts at kernel level. So it might be a good start looking at patches first. While looking through them, the PaX idea caught my eye. Pax is a latin word, which means peace - and that is exactly what this patch is for (as a part of the grsecurity patchset). So let’s see if I am able to patch my kernel with it and get back online.
