Dead drunk

Standing outside, it is easy to look at problems in an objective way and giving an advice. But it is hard, if it’s about you - whether in a direct or indirect way.

This Saturday, a young man died - senselessly. He was just 18 years old. In fact as he drunk himself to death. He was as old as my stepson… 18 years young and already dead…

He was drunk, fell down a stairway and lost his life. It is alarming - consternation among his friends who have seen the incident. But does that change things? No.

Regarding the role model of the adults, peer pressure, the coolness-feeling and all that leads them to drink. They even continue, having the death of their friend in mind.

Daily news like “Three drunken bikers caught by police” and similar do not help either. Things won’t change…

One, two beer after work, three, four beer or more in the evening, ah - that will go. Vomiting prepares the stomach for the next beer or Whiskey cola…

Boozed, people don’t drive - as they are afraid to get caught… But in the other hand they know some secret path to be able to get to the disco after having some startup drinks to be able to have party afterwards…

All that stays is a hangover and a bad taste in the mouth - whether the next day exists, since some days ago a good friend died - just on his way home; fell down some stairs - drunk.

In some days there will be his funeral…

The question that lasts: … who’s next?
