Release Dilemma

As a programmer I am fighting with updating my own software from time to time. What should I do regarding bugfixes? What should I do regarding features? How often should I release a new version? Honestly, this is a dilemma:

If I release my bugfixes sooner, users are pissed that they need to update again (if they even care). If I keep them back to release a bigger fix at once, most people will be pissed because of the problem not being solved already. Whatever you do - from the point of a programmer here - seems to be plain wrong.
