Looking for a proper phone

Looking at the mobile phone market I have to admit the trend doesn’t make me happy. Nokia buried Maemo and Meego and decided to use Windows, Apple forces you to use iTunes which is a pain in the ass on any non-macintosh stuff. Symbian is ancient old and I won’t use Windows on a mobile phone.

So what’s left? Looks like the only thing left is Google’s Android on various devices. But there’s also a big difference among them due to security issues with preinstalled Software.

I have no clue where to go from here. My current Phone is a Nokia N900 which replaces my Laptop if I am on the road and its functionality is great and I am not sure if any phone out there could be a worthy replacement…
